Is WordRush free to play?
Yes. WordRush is free to play in your browser.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play as a guest. Signing in lets you keep a username, avatar, and stats with your account across devices.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Open WordRush in a browser and play on a computer, phone, or tablet.

Choose a game, trace connected letter tiles in order, and release to submit your word. How to Play has the full core rules.
Playing and scoring
What counts as a valid word?
Your trace must use adjacent tiles, including diagonals, without reusing a tile. The word must meet that game’s minimum length and be in the WordRush dictionary used for that game. Some modes add another rule.
Why was my word rejected?
A word can be too short, follow a broken path, already be found, not be in that game’s dictionary, or fail a mode-specific rule such as Word Chain’s required starting letter.
Can I use the same word more than once?
No, not in your own round. Once you have successfully submitted a word, submitting it again is rejected. In standard competitive multiplayer, each player has their own found-word list, so another player can still score the same word. Some shared modes handle duplicates differently.
How does scoring work?
Normal scoring is word length squared: 3 letters score 9 points, 4 score 16, and 5 score 25. Some modes add bonuses, use a shared score, or set a target.
Multiplayer
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Open Play with friends, create a room, and share its five-letter code or invite link. Friends can join with the code; the host chooses the game and starts the round.
How many people can play multiplayer?
A room supports up to 10 players, including the host.
What happens if I disconnect or refresh?
WordRush saves your room credentials in the browser and tries to reconnect automatically. If the room still exists and you return before your reserved seat expires, you can continue the session. Once the room ends or your reconnect window expires, you will need to join or create a new room.
Accounts, stats, and modes
How are stats and streaks saved?
Your browser keeps your guest profile, including your scores, word and round stats, and the history used to calculate your streak. Sign in to keep those profile details with your account across devices. Clearing browser site data can remove a guest profile from that browser.
What are the different game modes?
Modes change the board, clock, goal, minimum word length, or a special rule. See WordRush Game Modes for the current options and which ones support solo or multiplayer play.
What is Dirty Mode?
Dirty Mode is the 18+ mode that uses the adult dictionary. Choose it only if that vocabulary is appropriate for you.
