How to Play Party Mode

Build the party round

Party Mode opens a builder instead of a fixed preset. The group chooses three things before the board opens:

• Grid: 4×4, 5×5, or 6×6.
• Shortest word: 3, 4, or 5 letters.
• Clock: 30 seconds up to 5 minutes, in 30-second steps.

Defaults are 4×4, 3+ letters, and 2 minutes. The summary line always shows the round the group has built.

Play the round

The round uses the normal trace-and-submit loop on the chosen board: move between adjacent tiles, including diagonals, without reusing a tile, and submit words of at least the chosen minimum from the active dictionary.

Scoring is also normal length-squared scoring. The round ends when the timer reaches zero, and you can also choose End Round early.

Keep the party going

After the results, choose Continue party mode to reopen the builder and set up the next round, or Exit party mode to stop. Party Mode is a single-device experience, so no room or account is required.
